Yes, it's alive, but I would recommend that you continue to use a free version of BabaCAD, or switch to some other CAD (maybe 2500 USD annual subscription for AutoCAD). And please don't buy BabaCAD 2020, because 69 USD is a lot of money for the software like this (I must be sarcastic, because I spent more than 10,000 hours in the development of BabaCAD software, and I typed over 500,000 lines of C++ code).
For all others, who read this: Support is still available for all BabaCAD software, but now, focus is more on development of BabaCAD Robotics desktop version and BabaCAD Robotics Web (free web version of robotic arm simulation and offline programming tool).

. You can go through that problematic dxf file and check every line after the line which contains number 8. By default those lines contain 0 (Layer "0").
