Babacad still alive?
« on: July 29, 2025, 12:35:14 am »
After using the old BabaCad 2017, free version, for some time as replacement for AutoCad I think about buying the latest version 2020.
But when looking at the comments and messages I get the impression the program is not developed anymore, or supported, for a long time.

Is BabCad still alive?

I don't want to waste my money...

Yes, it's alive, but I would recommend that you continue to use a free version of BabaCAD, or switch to some other CAD (maybe 2500 USD annual subscription for AutoCAD). And please don't buy BabaCAD 2020, because 69 USD is a lot of money for the software like this (I must be sarcastic, because I spent more than 10,000 hours in the development of BabaCAD software, and I typed over 500,000 lines of C++ code).

For all others, who read this: Support is still available for all BabaCAD software, but now, focus is more on development of BabaCAD Robotics desktop version and BabaCAD Robotics Web (free web version of robotic arm simulation and offline programming tool).

Thanks Babadmin,

Does your answer mean the 30-day trial  is free for use for longer/lifetime?

No, current trial version is 30-days trial as before, but in the next year I will try to prepare and release a special version of BabaCAD Home that will be free for students and retirees.

That would be nice! I am "old and retired"!  ;)
Many thanks in advance.
