General discussion about BabaCAD / Babacad still alive?
« on: July 29, 2025, 12:35:14 am »
After using the old BabaCad 2017, free version, for some time as replacement for AutoCad I think about buying the latest version 2020.
But when looking at the comments and messages I get the impression the program is not developed anymore, or supported, for a long time.

Is BabCad still alive?

I don't want to waste my money...

General discussion about BabaCAD / Using SphereUnf.vlx

I am looking for a routine to make unfolded/flattened cones and spheres.
Tried SphereUnf.vlx in BabaCad: drag&drop don't work, but APPLOAD-command says it was installed.
But at the command Sphereunf it didn't work.
The above does work in a full Autocad-program, not in their LT-versions.

How can I get this thing to work or is there another routine to get my wanted result?

General discussion about BabaCAD / Introducing

Hello members,

I would like to give a very tiny introduction of myself.
I am a retired Dutchman from just over 60 years and shortly working with CAD.
Used AutoCad2008 LT and it got me hooked. Specially since I can also use a laserplotter to cut cardboard.

Autocad is heavy and expensive. Found out BabaCad looks very similar.
Gonna do some tests to see if the files made can also being used with the laser.
This appears not always being the case...

Greetings from Holland,
PT
